Certainly, Howard, two different developments.
The Church of England recognises Canterbury as the seat of the English Church, and Canterbury and York as the two Diocese seats.
Canterbury was the capital of Kent where King Ethelbert founded the English Church, York the capital of Northumbria where, around 50 years later, King Oswald of Northumbria called over Celtic missionaries from the Scottish Isle of Iona to found the Norothumbrian Church.
Clearly Henry VIII is not the founder of the English Church.
