 - A clip below of the most memorable party conference moments. -
By my count, 3 Labour 4 Conservative and 2 Liberal/Libdem.
 -
I am amazed to find that I was present in the audience for two of the four Conservative 'memorable moments'.

Yes, its that time of year again, once the clowns of the TUC finish their gathering it will be the turn of the political parties.

outside of the hall it meant nowt.

hague made a number of good speeches, a leader at the wrong time

 - I think they are, quite literally, some of the most bizarre and amusing events of the year. Each is a parody of a Victorian travelling carnival, with it's own moments of genius amongst the parade of grotesques.

 - Today's conferences are stage managed and very little in the way of disagreements.
whilst understanding in this day and age why this has come about, it has very little in them any more that would interest anyone.

 - got in before me keith, i was about to post the same.

what i find unforgiveable is when some party worker at the bottom of the food chain gets up to speak at conference the top honchos sitting close by ignore the poor wretch and share jokes with each other completely forgetting that they would not be where they are without the door knockers, leaflet deliverers and envelope stuffers.

 - Just to follow up on this to show no bias
i always recall the neil kinnock sheffield rally
when got all he stars to appear at a rally

that was the day neil kinnock lost the election for labour.

at conferences any moves to disagree are thrown out by party leaders
total tv coverage of all the nice cuddly party

 in the real world,,,,,,,

 - Brian - #4, all to their own but I attended my first Conservative Party conference (excluding minor conferences that is) in 1977 and have attended 7 in all. I love them, find them great fun and just wish I was able to find the time to attend more often. You have to be interested in politics but you also have to enjoy a pint, good food and good company even more!

 - barry has missed one of the joys of conference, when the bomb went off all those years ago in the brighton hotel many of those in the least damaged part of the hotel all rushed to get back to the room they were supposed to be in.

 - "Clowns of the TUC".
The Trade Unions lost to M. Thatcher, as we know, and the result was that T. Blair came along and opened the door to sheer economic destruction.

One opened the door to the other, because both (Thatcher and Blair) were enemies of workers' rights.
