I watched "Dispatches" on Ch. 4 last night. It highlighted sweatshops in Leicester where the workers were being paid £2.00 to £2.50 per hour. They were making garments for some of the top shops in the UK. All the workers were from the sub.continent, some legal and some illegal. The owners of the factory were also from the same place.
The place was filthy with no place for the workers to take their few breaks in a 12 hour shift. The sewing machines were also unsafe having no safety features to safeguard the workers fingers. Talk about third world country conditions, they are alive and kicking in Leicester.
