Interesting idea but I cannot see Eurotunnel putting on a commuter service at an affordable price.

The main problem with that idea is that (generally) people spend where they live, not much where they work and if lots of people moved to Calais or just outside, we would lose a lot of spending power.
From our point of view, no, not a good idea. As the guy represents businesses over there, it would be good for them, but not us.

The Brit population has been rising in the Nord Pas de Calais region for many years and not just because of low house prices.
Hospitals and schools are better and the quality of life comes into it.

If someone intends to buy property there the best time is now, I doubt that the powers that be will let the Euro drop further.
