I have just received the latest communication from East Kent Hospitals Foundation Trust. Apart from the customary invitations to consider standing as a governor of the trust I was very interested to note that on Tuesday 22nd November 2011 they will be giving a presentation at Dover Town Hall on Stroke Services and The New Community Hospital. As this is apparently for trust members only, you have to apply for tickets, I have requested four, three of which will be spare should anyone wish to accompany me to what could be an "interesting" evening. The presentation is to start at 6:30 and finish at 8:30. Interestingly, the agenda list the Stroke Presentation & Q&A but then only Community Hospital. I will certainly be asking if they will take questions.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Chris - given my stuff about the stroke services and interest in the community hospital, please may I come with you?

You may indeed Bern, I will be pleased to have you there. They are doing two other evenings, in Margate and Canterbury, also with two items on their agendas and on those both items are listed as including Q&A. One has to wonder why they have singled out the Community Hospital in this way.

sorry to be cynical but it just sounds like another smokescreen, after the closure of buckland they can refer to all the public meetings to prove that they have "listened to the community".

I was leaning towards that impression myself, which is why I requested four seats.
