Agree with Paul on this one, DDC have been releasing photos of individual presentations over the past week or so and it looks like community groups in every village and hamlet(not River though) has received some money to continue their good work. It must seem to them that previously the smooth talking, Armani wearing city slickers of Dover, Deal and Sandwich were getting what was up for grabs.

Looks like I will have to lobby my County Councillors for grant funding.Competing with Dover groups now.I and several other residents would like a community garden in our recreation ground.First hurdle to over come to persuade the Parish Council to release the land currently used as a playground. Our children already have had two new areas of play in the past year. Loads of picnic benches, plus gymn equipment nothing for us oldies who campaigned to keep the rec.
One of our elderly residents aged 94 has just died ,a true village champion for all ,past president of the WI,Also River Gardner’s and Chairmanof the Village Hall.Helped to organise River Fetes in all a “life well lived”,
I have people prepared to help me .One part of the garden would be devoted for people who are blind .People with disibilties .
It would cater for a large number of residents .River has a large population of residents over seventy.

No senior football .No cricket .Just the children using the new equipment.More reason to cater for the oldies.

Can't be many children to use the equipment bearing in mind the older demographic of the local population.

I find it difficult to believe that there are 400 children of primary school age in River unless you include Lower River, sometimes known as St Radigunds in the catchment area.

Yes there’s are a lot of children ,however we do have some from St Radigunds area but then some River children go to Temple Ewell or St Richards.

There are a lot of young families in River so I am not at all surprised. Three of my grandchildren went there as they lived in River and a fourth who lived just over the boundary, a great school.

I think I can say without fear of contraception that Priory village fairs badly in the grant area with inner city areas like River.
