Just been down there. Lots of if's and buts but very little information. Most people seemed to think it was a useless PR stunt by the council.

This would be good to run one at this years Kent Miners Festival in August.
What do you think?

Well, I sm not sure who Jack Heart spoke to? All organisations that took part (.and only two DDC department present out of 30 organisations) all, felt had been very worthwhile and the public, many of the families enjoyed what was on offer, kids activities, bouncy castle etc. had over 250 people along. The event was organised by Tower Hamlets Forum, not the council. Yes, I am a councillor but see it as my role to help facilitate such events, we all felt had been successful and good example of community working together. Looking to plan another in a different part of the ward, nearer the town

Nearer town would be good, preferably somewhere not up a hill.

Usually these events are held at the very accessible library or gateway centre Jan, in this case the Tower Hamlets forum has very laudibly brought it closer to their residents. Hopefully other groups will do likewise.

Never heard of the Tower Hamlets forum even though I live in that ward.

This was our first such event; the ward is large stretching from near the boy's grammar school to one side of castle avenue. The idea is to try to arrange another in the lower part of the ward, and Salem Baptist has been mentioned. Meetings of the forum are advertised in the local paper, and sometimes on Facebook. The next one is March 18th at Curzon Hall, Curzon Road at 7.00 p.m. When there will be a speaker on Community organising.
