  ...how the gallant Americans saved Great Britain in the Battle of Britain.
  
  Not a remake but a whole newly scripted film of the Battle on its way. It perhaps would not be so bad if it was a remake (not that one is needed) but what can we expect from a fresh Hollywood script?
  
  Dowding played by Clint Eastwood perhaps.
  
  Fear the worse and you wont be disappointed.

  There is already an excellent Battle of Britain film, much loved with Laurence Olivier, Robert Shaw, Christopher Plummer et al
  
  Remembered locally for the scenes shot in the Jackdaw Pub with Christopher Plummer and Susannah York.
  
  It wont be the first time Hollywood has rewritten the WWII script to suit the US market.

  I didn't think the article read that badly, but we'll see. At least it isn't about how Stalingrad was saved by US forces bailing out the Russians, ah, but I mustn't give Hollywood ideas.
  
  I am looking forward to seeing Peter Jackson's version of Dambusters though. He's apparantly built ten life-sized Lancasters and they are currently sitting in a hanger in NZ. However, production has been put on hold until after The Hobbit, so we've a while to wait yet. Oh, and before anyone asks, the dog has been renamed 'Digger'.
  
  A film depicting the Battle of Jutland (1916) is also in development with a British producer. That could be very good if the computer graphics are up to scratch, but I'd have thought this would cost a fortune to pull off well.

  Renaming the dog is unnecessary and a warping of history.
  
  I love the pic on the front page of the Spit over the South Foreland, a MkVb if I am not mistaken, a beautiful sight.

  of course the americans won every thing since 1870.
  
  they credit them selfs for winning the following,
  
  1,the zulu wars.
  2,the boer wars
  3,the first world war.
  4,the second world war.
  5,and every other war that i havent mentiond.
  
  a little ancidote for you.
  while british solders where stationd in hong kong during the vieatnam war,in which the americans used as a r and r base.a small group of british solders where in there regular bar having a drink,a simular sized group of american troops walked in and orderd drinks.they started to talk to the british troops in a friendly manner,then one of them poped the question why arnt you in vieatnam,in reply the shortest smallist brit solder replyed "the same reason you wernt at dunkirk."

  Has anyone ever listened to the speech at the end of Pearl Harbour? A classic low for an American 'we won the war' film. The fact it's spoken by Kate Beckinsale is even more of an insult!
