17:1486597Went to put the kettle on today before March of the penguins started, looked out of the kitchen window, and in the garden that backs on to mine was an egret in the tree, tosay I was gobsmacked would be an understatement. I cant get the photo to download at the moment will send it to the boss to set his magic on it.

17:3886603I dont know if it is the one that we have all seen down by Morrisons or not, the lady who owns the garden no longer has a pond so I have no idea why it was just sitting in the tree, the two gardens are right next to the old a&e entrance to the hospital and nowhere near water.

23:2286718I wonder if the cold has driven them into the relative warmth of the town because their normal river habitat is frozen over.

08:5986739Wow Phil you have excelled again there..great shots particularly of the Egrets, three of them! well its just fab!
Its really great to have these birds in the centre of town. I dont think I had ever seen a heron before I moved to central Dover.
