Yes Howard, you'd be hard pushed to get coffee or anything in Goodfillas!

I quite often pop in for a cuppa in La 'Saville' Verte. In my experience they serve the best coffee in town within a peaceful and relaxing environment.

Surprised that "Mean Bean" didn't get a mention, always seems to be busy.

Starbucks are planning to open in Deal but residents are mainly against on the grounds there are too many coffee shops, charity shops and barbers, sounds familiar.

For the first time in many a long day I walked from The Market Square to Buckland Bridge and was amazed at the number of fast food shops or those that were no longer open. It seems that anyone with a frying pan or a skillet wants to open a fast food shop and is allowed to, quite depressing to see as was the number of closed shops.
I appreciate this is a subject covered on other threads but I feel better for saying it.

You are not alone Ken.I too am amazed at the number of cafes fast food outlets etc.IWhen you see this combined with charity shops is it any wonder all the good shops have gone.Sitting drinking and eating is not just fashionable for the older ,it's the many young people as well.

I thought this might have been turned down but Deal will now have a Starbucks, maybe Dover will be next.
