    Paving please Nigel, given the choice, as you say my bad ankles and my Sholley trolley do not like cobbles.

    Rather than removing all the cobbles which do look nice, could paving be laid every so often to give easy crossing points, it might work out cheaper that way.

    Following on from Bern's comment when I lived in Suffolk most of the roundabouts were sponsored by local companies.
