Some of you will recall that some time ago I asked about the cobbles in the Precinct. After a fair amount of input from a number of people on Doverforum we concluded that they looked good but were a little impractical.
I have maintained dialogue with Kent Highways on this as in some places it is starting to look horrible.
From a site visit, it appears the three worst areas are in the Market Square and Cannon Street - outside the Bar Ellie, at the bottom of Market Street and outside St Mary's Church.
During the week I have signed the forms for these areas to be repointed taking £14,268 from my KCC Members Highway Fund - we now await the KCC Cabinet Members endorsement.
I have asked for costs for the other two areas, outside the Prince Albert and the entrance down the side of the Town Hall.
Got to smarten the place up however we can and every little helps.
I will be very grateful when the Town Hall area gets done, part of it is very uncomfortable to walk on unless wearing very thick soled shoes.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I was told today that a public footpath that leads towards the castle has been closed for a while and non locals are getting lost as they go up some dead end. I am not sure where it is but the alternative route is via Castle Avenue and Park Avenue, something to do with a wall falling down at the far end.
