Coaches on the Sea Front

  This is a very common scene along the sea front these days, coach loads of visitor`s, dropped off, whereby they all go onto the beach for a while, take picture`s and view the harbour then back to their coach and disappear. In the picture above, the first coach load is already on the beach, while the second coach has just pulled up and discharging it`s passenger`s. In the centre, a British Movie Tours mini bus has also just arrived, to drop a few more off. End of season, but still they come. This was around 13.00 today.

  I saw some blokes dressed as officer and a getleman in town a couple of days ago from a cruise ship and a fair few tourists to, sadly these coach tours only seem to love our beach

  I suspect if one of us mingled as a fellow traveller amongst them and remarked about popping in the town which is only 5 minute`s walk away, the response from one of the passenger`s would be; "We can`t really, as we`ve got to be in Canterbury in an hours time. Dover is beautiful when you compare it to many other places, it`s just the lack of shops, the low life about and the lack of information about for tourist`s. Maybe that`s why they mainly head for the beach?

  .. And there is the problem of getting from or to the town from the seafront... via the underpass...
