  Love or hate them,i agree the Weatherspoons are certainly good value for money.We often use the Eight bells,they do a real good breakfast there.Some of the smaller pubs in town are great,but some past and present dont do much to help themselves.I,ve been in a few with some real rude,arrogant bar staff with regular drinkers that just want to stare you out and make you feel about as welcome as a shark in a swimming pool.A pub since closed used to have a chalked sign outside saying "come in for a cold beer and a warm welcome".That statement should have been the other way round.
