I used the Falstaff in the 70.s when it was owned by the grandparents of one of my football playing mates. They had it since the war and little had changed inside, then it was 2 rooms divided by a middle bar.Obviously after they died the place was revamped and the rent went up accordingly...bled dry leaving very little room for profit. Supported it after Rogers grand opening but it went downhill and it closed suddenly taking all the donated memorablia with it...ask Croc for his experiences.

The anti smoking ban was introduced without much thought. It's forced drinkers and smokers onto the streets and pavements outside the boozers leaving the pubs inside smoke and customer free. Not a pretty sight and as others have mentioned made pubs uninviting and intimidating.
