I organised the launch of the Sir John Falstaff, but not with the current owners.
The launch where it was to have a theme about respect for our war-dead was to be linked in with the Dover War Memorial Project.
It was a great night and about 150 or so people were there.
The owner of the pub then, was a Lady (?) called Sarah, who also owned the Britannia until it closed; she had great ideas (about the Falstaff), but no real intentions of carrying any of them out.
The most recent owners came from the Wheelrights on the Buckland Estate. They tried hard to make a go of it and the food they offered was pretty good and cheap, but the smokers/drinkers at the entrance, always put us off.
