they way i read it the money spent is allocated to regions who need assistance but dave, george and nick plan to use the money to cut the deficit.

Agree with Steve Manion and know he can be trusted to inform his euro-sceptic colleagues of yet another EU subsidy.

Steve, is a true champion for community life and I know he will back this letter up actively and pursue this with determination.
This money should go where it belongs, into community projects for regeneration and we should all get behind Steve and the other's as this is vital for our future.

Steve is a good community cllr.
He has spent 9 years representing DDC on Coalfields Community-now Industrial Alliance.
That grouping are heavily involved in supporting the Betteshanger/Hadlow bid.
With Professor Steve Fothergill from Sheffield -Hallam- University a tremendous amount of background research has been undertaken to sell the case for East Kent.
Other than Betteshanger a Coastal Communities group has been established via Steve to look at the negative impacts of the economics of these areas.
This matter refers back to the origins of this thread & backed up by £35m annual bidding sum for these areas.
The money comes from off shore windfarm income collected by Government.

Paul.
Thanks for that info, interesting as to where the money is coming from. I wonder what the anti- wind farmers will make of that one?
I have had a lot of contact with Steve over the last few years and it has been a pleasure, he is a very dedicated man and I have a lot of respect for him.

I recall when reg was the labour leader and leader of the council he called the leading lights down to dover and was very active on the C C C RIGHT up until the time he allowed mr mannion to take over.
There is no doubt that mr mannion is carrying on the good work that reg started and all power to his elbow

Keith you live in cloud cuckoo land.
Reg. did not give up his place for Steve, I appointed Steve to position after Reg. lost his seat & a certain Eileen R .went that way too.
It was not in Reg's gift to give away. Steve now holds his position for both DDC & KCC.

All, perhaps matching funding can be forthcoming so that the designated deprived areas can play their part in our much needed economic recovery.

We can simply carry on playing silly-buggers.

You have so much front Keith, it's unbelievable.
To call the Leader of Dover District Council a liar, is just unreal.
