I don't understand your point. Are you suggesting that the use of graphics to describe scientific statistics is invalid as a means of informing the world of facts? Are you saying that no serious scientist ever uses graphics but falls back on thousands of numbers listed on a page which might resemble computer language than a serious attempt to educate?
Hmmn, that puts paid to thousands upon thousands of research papers which mostly contain charts of some description.
Exactly what sphere of the scientific realm did your friend study?
It's a shame you do not comment on the substance of the graphs rather than rubbishing a widely accepted form of scientific communication of ideas and facts.
The point of the charts was to highlight the undeniable fact that the UK's total man-made emissions amount to something negligible - hardly able to register a number in terms of Worldwide emissions and yet We have laws which imperil our economic security.
That's the way I read it anyhow.
