  Statistics have always been able to tell whatever story wished of them. More worrying is that visible evidence such as retreating glaciers is ignored or excuses made. More melting ice in the Arctic cools the North Atlantic and pushes the warming gulf steam further south leading to cooler winters and more erratic weather in Britain.
