I love Dover, I want Dover to succeed, show the world how great it is and what it has to offer.

I am confused by this, and it all comes down to semantics...again! This process/competition hinges on the idea that 'City' is a term that can be applied for, not by population or religious status, but by request to boost profile.

By this reasoning I suggest that if we do not 'win' this title, we should apply for 'village'. Just think "Dover, England's biggest village" ...what an accolade!

Or if we really run with the idea that a word does not have to adhere to it's meaning and it can mean what we want as long as it it promotes potential: "Starship Dover" what investor would turn down an opportunity to invest in a 'starship' well not a starship exactly...more of a town, called a starship. But who would notice?

A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
