I sent an email circular round a couple of weeks or so about Crabble Corn Mill's Cider (and Real Ale) Festival.
If anyone would like to be added to my email address groups, just let me know (lindenrog@aol.com).
The emails are sent out blind, which means no one can see your email address, so you will not receive any scam or spam emails from them.
Here's the one I sent round about the Mill's Cider Festival.

Crabble Corn Mill Cider and Ale Festival
Press Release 24th August 2010
The Cider & Ale Festival 2010
Crabble Corn Mill is holding its second cider and ale festival on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th October.
The festival is open on Friday 8th October, between 6pm and 11:00pm and on Saturday 9th October between midday and 11:00pm.
The festival is being held to raise funds for the Crabble Corn Mill Trust to help it through the traditional lean period of winter, when visitors stay at home but overheads continue to build up.
There will be about 25 draught ciders from around the country and 4 real ales, provided through sponsorship, by the Wantsum Brewery, Hersden. This brewery kindly provided sponsorship to this event last year, and to our 2010 Beer festival.
The festival will be run along the same lines as our successful beer festival, but on a smaller scale. We hope that by offering bother cider and ale we will attract lovers of both types of beverage and perhaps entice them to try something different!
Unlike the beer festival there will be no need to purchase a ticket in advance, so customers can make a last minute decision to come along if it suits.
If anyone wishes to volunteer to help on either day they are encouraged to contact the Mill by phone or e-mail. (01304 823292 or

Entertainment
Our entertainment is going to be a repeat of the successful format we found at this year's Beer Festival.
The popular acoustic duo Cultured Pearl, regular performers at Crabble Corn Mill music nights, are returning to play on Friday evening.
Supporting us in the Saturday afternoon slot for the second consecutive year at the Cider and Ale festival are The Ramblin' Boys who will once again playing their own unique mixture of folk and blues based music.
The headline band on Saturday evening is Roger Betts, River's own popular 'guitar hero'.
Food
As in previous events the volunteers at the mill will be providing wholesome, good value food. We expect staple dishes such as a BBQ, curry and other food and beverages (non alcoholic) to be available in the mill tea room.
Entry Fees
Entry fees are £2.50 on Friday 8th October and £2.00 on Saturday 9th October.
There is no need to order advance tickets.
How to get to the festival / Drinking and Driving
The trustees do not want anyone to drink and drive and encourage responsible drinking.
There are good public transport links to Crabble Corn Mill. Information on bus and train services is generally available to the public through recognised sources. There is a rail link on the Dover / Canterbury line at Kearsney Station and a number of busses run from the town to River or the main road at Crabble.
Thanks are due to Dover White Cliffs Tours, who are providing a continuous mini bus service from Dover Priory Railway Station for the duration of the festival. The cost of this service has yet to be decided by the operator. The first bus out on Friday will leave Dover Priory at about 17:50pm. On Saturday the first mini bus leaves the station at about 11:50.
Times are approximate and subject to local traffic conditions at the time.
To find the mill on Sat. Nav. the post code is CT17 0UY. (Use a nominated driver - hot beverages and soft drinks are available for drivers / non drinkers throughout the festival.)
Crabble Corn Mill - background information
Crabble Corn Mill was built in 1812 to grind grain used to feed the troops garrisoned in Dover against the threat from Napoleon. It was 'mothballed' in the late 1890s and is therefore remarkably well preserved and has all its original machinery in working order. The mill is now owned and operated by a registered charity, Crabble Corn Mill Trust registered under Charity No. 297098.
The Mill still produces, for sale, stone ground whole meal flour from organically grown wheat as well as a range of bread mixes especially formulated to work with modern day home bread making machines.
The trading activities of Crabble Corn Mill Trust are conducted by Crabble Corn Mill Trading Ltd., Company number 05541140. Any trading profit made by this company is donated to the Trust.
Crabble Corn Mill is kept open and operated throughout the year entirely by volunteers.
Upkeep is a costly business for the Trust and they are indebted to the local Community Payback Scheme for the help provided in keeping the mill and buildings serviceable.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship of the event is welcomed and very much appreciated as this really helps the mill maximise its fund raising effort. The cost is £45 per cider.
If anyone is interested in sponsoring the event they should contact Anthony Reid at Crabble Corn Mill (01304 823292 or e-mail

For Crabble Corn Mill Cider and Ale Festival 2010."
A great week-end and all in a good cause - you can sleep easy both nights, for two reasons - one because of the cider and two, because you have done your bit by supporting them.
