I love getting M&S vouchers I try all sorts of foods I would never normally think of buying for myself and now give vouchers to nearly all the family for the various high street or online shops they use.
The benefit to them is they can get something they actually want rather than giving me the big smile while thinking yuk! The added benefit to me is I no longer have all those awkward shaped parcels to wrap.

I've been checking up on this thread and Am disappointed there is not much response. I am so sick of buying unwanted gifts and, due to a recent holiday far far away, I am a tad strapped for cash this December so was looking for some creative ideas.
I go across the water quite often and love to buy a nice cheap basket and fill it with foreign food and drink. It never goes to waste as a present!
Kath I LOVE your candlelit dinner idea, lucky my other half does not read this forum!

Keeps politics to myself

Just remembered I always used to give one friend a homemade pork pie and jar of spicy chutney and another friend an IOU for a couple of cakes of his choice.

Love the candlelight dinner idea Kath.
One of my favourite gifts to give (and receive) is the adoption of an animal from a sanctuary or rescue centre.
I also give trees as gifts via the Woodland Trust.

You can't beat home-made things, especially food! Cakes, cookies, jam, chutney. Some nice cheese too.
Perhaps instead of all the chocolates?
I look forward to reading more ideas when I come back after my hip operation (tomorrow) !
