19:0734477The season for another outpouring of the usual music. Do members have any particular favourites, or one`s they`d rather not hear?

19:1034478One I love is 'Stop The Cavalry' by Jona Lewie. My wife would rather die the death of a thousand cuts than hear it!
My all time favourite is a traditional carol, Coventry Carol. Haunting..........
True friends stab you in the front.

19:2134479I like 'White Christmas' by Bing Crosby, all the old Phil Spector produced 'Frosty the snowman' kind of happy tunes and Kirsty MacColl 'Fairytale of New York'. My real favourite has to be Wizard (Roy Wood) 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday'. I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Roy Wood several times when I was young; he's such a lovely guy. I guess we don't hear Gary Glitters 'Rock and Roll Christmas' anymore!!

22:2534506Apparently the song is about Irish people who emigrated to America in the 19th century to escape the potato famine in hope of making it as entertainers in New York. You are right there is no NYPD choir but they do have Pipe and Drums divisions that were featured in the video. The NYPD Pipes and Drums didn't know "Galway Bay" and so played a different song for the music video, which was edited to fit the beat.
