A message from Dover Tales who will be performing on the day -

We'll be taking the tale of how Widred King of Kent won the day and in gratitude to St Martin built St Martins Priory in Dover Town, Martin being the towns Saint to this very day.

This is a secular play but nevertheless St Martin is a pretty good role model as The Vatican themselves note: " Martin helps us understand that it is only through a common commitment to sharing that (we) can meet the great challenge of our time: to build a world of peace and justice, in which everyone can live in dignity ... a global model of authentic solidarity, able to ensure all inhabitants of the planet food, water, medical care, but also work and energy resources, and cultural, scientific and technological knowledge".

All that good stuff aside the play features sword fights and a special song what we wrote, a degree of audience participation is encouraged but please no heckling or jeering and maybe leave the sword fighting to us?

    Our proposed schedule is:

    10.15 St Marys Parish Hall
10.45 Market Square near Discovery Centre
    11.30 Biggin Street
    12.15 The Rack of Ale

but of course all of that will be subject to prevailing weather conditions!
