Our local community association have selected 9 streets close by and judges will go around on the 19th and decide which houses have the best display. Small prizes for the best 2.

Theres some good ones about but i dont think theres anywhere near as many houses covered in lights this year,it seems like the trend is dying out to me.I used to cover our house in lights and then the house up the road would buy more. Not wishing to be outdone i would go out and buy more and they,re not cheap.I,d then spend most of christmas up and down the ladder replacing blown bulbs to the point where i,d just had enough and flogged the lot at next years car boot sale. Now the new ones are all LEDs blown bulbs are a thing of the past but i bet they cost a fortune now.We much prefere having some nice lights indoors and sod the outside.

Seems to be a trend that is dying out but the Sandown Guest House always has a great display.
