The post you are reporting:
Alan the only dinners we attend we pay for,the one in December is costing £26 for the Mayor's Goodwill fund to needy people, and I am making Sandwiches for the Band and the Salvation army(25-30 people),how many tickets have you bought.
As I said this was a new venture this year and it needs working on,it was a good day and everyone who was there enjoyed it,I will be bringing up some of the things on here with the Chairman as I think we realise that some things could be better and I believe the mince pies and mulled wine is one of those things.
Alan the only joke are those people who pull down this Town, read Ross's post#73.If you think you could do something to make it better please volunteer, perhaps you could spend thousands of £'s bringing a skating rink in,what a good idea, see Tunbridge Wells one hit problems it defrosted losing the man who brought it in thousands.Doesnt sound such a good idea now.
The staff worked really hard and lots of the Cllrs were ther too,I worked until 15.40 and was straight into the Office as security and got home at 7pm,did I get paid no it was me helping the Town Council Officers who were brilliant.
Alan if you got rid of the Town Council there would be no Town Clerk and the money they spend would mean no Christmas switch on.Unless of course you are going to give people the money I cant reveal the figs for the lights as we had a problem and sorted it and we explained why the lights wouldnt go to everywhere we wanted this year, but you are talking several 10's of thousands of £'s.Thank you for offering to help next year how much can I put you down for.
