the one in belgrave road went swimmingly after a slow start, sheila ringing a bell outside that could be heard north of the medway helped.
i trust that the age concern one, and the one in river did well too.
so difficult when everyone tries to do the same thing at the same time, unavoidable though.

I was in River all morning .My Mystery parcels went well all went .No my hats cost more than £1 50 Vic .Some jokers kept asking if there was a bottle of whiskey in the parcels which contained bubble bath .Howard sadly the Village Hall do not get the support they deserve .I think River people think the hall survives on fresh air .It is always the same few who support us .Needless to say no one from the area where I live supported us .
Still on a good note I did get down to Riverside where they were just packing up .They made just over a thousand pounds so another good day
Unfortanately Alkham held those on the same day and even I could not get to all of them ..

rather sad state of affairs susan, i expected a village to be more enthusiastic than an urban area about local events.
i suspect the problem is one of people using village homes just as a base for commuting nowadays and not taking any interest in anything local to them.

we could have killed two birds with one stone, sheila could have stood outside the lions do ringing her bell till they all got fed up and went for a bit of peace up in river.
sheila would make a good town crier "oh yea oh yea, verily please note that we at ye olde towne council will not be lumbered with the bogs by that evil villain, paul watkins" gasps of horror from audience.

pity that sheila opened up her presents early(see pic on the front page), not a good example from a town councillor tsk tsk.
