Not just Christmas Day, Howard, most of them are getting the whole 11 days. It makes my blood boil, no wonder planning applications take months to be passed when there's nobody there for a whole third of a month.

i don't think it is as bad as it looks on the surface peter, council staff get an additional statutory day over certain holidays but many fill in the gaps with their annual leave to make up a longer break.
those concerned with the portacabin should be forced to stay in the office of course.
