With Dover TAP on all day today us poor residents of Aycliffe Estate as usual have been subject to the chorus of lorry horns.. yet no one in power seems to have to will to move the lorries away from a residential area..

DHB are not interested so maybe you should enlist the help of your District Councillor, Ms Rapley can be contacted on 07743 366217 - 3 am may be the best time to ring.

I am constantly sending e-mails to our MP, Dover District Council, KCC, We have meetings and all we get we get is “we hear your concerns.. then stupid excuses..” no one gives a damn.. This is since Dover TAP was introduced.
Our old police commissioner Ann Barnes did not even know it was illegal to sound a horn when stationary.. she pass the buck.
No one has the guts to tell Highways England that enough is enough
As I said in another thread Aycliffe is again ignored. We have been sacrificed
Not heard from Ms Rapley for years... I have feeling she does know where Aycliffe is..
By way this was written at 22.50 pm and lorry horns are still going off.

gary, ms rapley knows where Aycliffe is, often walking around talking to people. she is like you banging head against a brick wall about the lorry horns..
ps. our european lorry drivers friends don't understand that rule.

I have every sympathy for you, not that that helps one little bit. Sadly, I expect that things will only get worse.
On Brian's point, we received a missive from the French authorities a week or so ago imposing a speeding fine incurred on my son whilst driving back to his job in Portugal. It was written in perfect English and was clearly produced as a result of having obtained his UK vehicle licence details. The fine will increase progressively the longer the delay in paying, up to a maximum of 395 euros. After that, it was made clear that the vehicle would be confiscated were he ever to be caught driving it on French roads and not released until payment was made.
Why can't we do the same thing with offending continental drivers? Including, if there was a will, those at the wheel of horn beeping stationary artics.

DHB seem to take no responsibility for the behaviour of their clients and how they impact on people's lives. A start would be to produce a document stating the law on sounding horns in this country and any retribution to be taken, handed to every truck driver when they check in for say a month. Once this has sunk in send someone out with a police officer or two to dole out instant fines for offenders.

From the DHB site, I suspect that none present live in Aycliffe.
Meeting 12 February 2019
The PCF:
Welcomed Dover Harbour Board’s new Chief Executive Officer Doug Bannister to his first meeting of the Port & Community Forum.
Held a discussion on community issues, including nuisance caused by heavy traffic movements through Dover, and the possibility of public realm development along the seafront and new marina curve.

That seems to be the general idea Brian, you can go on the list to be an "observer" at meetings but unable to take part, so much for the community bit.
