As had been prerty obvious to anyone who followed the case, Michael Stone is innocent. Scary how the lynch mob mentality put an innocent man in gaol on such unsound evidence. Sheep-like behaviour shows itself again.

Without going into all the history of the tragic case I saw a documentary a couple of years ago that threw a lot of doubt over the conviction. Firstly there was no DNA evidence of Stone being anywhere near the crime and secondly he was known for using violence as a means of gaining monetary reward, which never applied with the events at Chillenden. Most of all it struck me it me that like all druggies he never went a yard further from his place of abode than he needed to so why would he travel many miles to an area he didn't know to commit a crime that was of no benefit to him.
Levi Bellfield has always fitted the bill and his obvious amusement he showed at the trial of the murdered Milly Dowler says rather a lot.

Michael Stone knew the area as he was at Eastry Childrens Home.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Wouldn't it be ironic if they let Stone out of jail because of an alleged confession to a prison inmate has a familiar ring to it.
They are both in jail where they belong let them rot there!

I concluded some time ago that Bellfield did it. Another major fail for our justice system.

As far as I can remember Bellfield was not even under suspicion at the time of the murders Stone was from quite early on. I do not think any one had even heard of Bellfield except maybe the police but neither men were known as murderers.
It is always easy to be wise a long time after the event, if Stone is innocent he should be freed as soon as possible.

It's very rare for a murderer to plead his innocence for so long after their conviction. If he had confessed he'd probably be up for parole around about now. It makes you wonder.

With all this doubt about the conviction, I, for one, am relieved that we no longer have the death penalty.
