19:3878488The annoucement that this woman in Plymouth was able to infiltrate a nursery school sounds horrific, and sounds like both nursey school and ofsted who knew of problems failed children.
I must have about 8 dffereing CRB checks for differing voluntary work I do and wonder how ths woman slpped under the radar.
From the news it appears there were poor management standards, anfd Ofsted could of/should of done more.

20:0078493from what i have heard she had no criminal record and was exceedingly popular in the community.
the problem seems to be that staff felt unable to say anything because of her age, length of service and strong personality.
not sure that ofsted can be exonerated, we keep hearing that they just do a quick surface check and disappear.
would she have needed a crb check if she had been employed there well before they come in?

21:4778522crb checks are at best a tick-box exercise. Nothing beats a recruiters instincts. If checks are required, the communication between police forces should be enough - sadly not, as Soham proves.
