went to aldi and passed the old car breakers , which was cleared last year of undergrowth as you come from the doctors to aldi,s just before the river looks like the fence has been moved enabling access to the old site
so is this a new hide away for the down and outs ?
anyone with a cmera would be able to put a photo on here

Been like that for a while Ron although admittedly it has been getting larger through use.
I see that last year's BBQ is still there!

I saw two male members of Aldi staff chase a shoplifter through there this afternoon, so its obviously an escape route

This is a private site owned by someone based in Southend, who appears to have little interest in the site since it has been made clear that he will not gain planning permission for the site. Even when the containers etc on the site were broken into for the copper in the site transformers that were stored in them he did nothing to improve site security.

If planning permission cannot be obtained for housing, then it must be worth less money. Maybe there's a case Ross, for applying for lottery funding to buy it and turn it into some sort of community use ?

Indeed Roger - we are looking into it - but it is a case of trying to get the owner to indicate a price

If you get an indicative valuation Ross, maybe there are officers at DDC who may be able to help complete the application for funding.
Good Luck.
