    To be honest I don't have a problem with this at all. The cost is small beer in terms of the overall KCC budget and the availability of cars enables councillors and officers to do their jobs more effectively.

    I have nothing but admiration for council leaders and cabinet members who work their socks off for very little reward.

    And they don't always seek recognition for what they do. Recently one councillor acted rapidly to save the life of another who had a heart attack during a meeting. Using his training as a nurse he kept his colleague alive with CPR until paramedics arrived.

    I have not seen that reported anywhere.
