Charlie Elphicke: What plans he has to return empty homes to use.
Oral Answers to Questions - Communities and Local Government: Empty Properties (30 Jan 2012)
``Charlie Elphicke: Although the number of homes empty for six months in
the Dover district has fallen sharply, to 872, do Ministers agree that a
lot more work is needed to undo the damage of the past in Dover? In
2005, there were 674 empty homes. I urge the fastest possible action.
During the same time, the social housing waiting list has grown by 14%.``end
Do hope Dover District Council and its Planning Dept. will assist Charlie in his effort especially with Social
Housing............their first effort on the first tranch of Whitfield is not encouraging....must try harder.
We will be watching progress..........

i read that the district council were dropping the points system for housing, i have no idea what they are replacing it with though.
i know they brought in a system a while back whereby people could put in a bid online for vacant properties.
