Oooh noo I think Christine paints a grim picture there...the point is Charlie speaks of neglect. There isnt any.

As for it being a dead entity, here is another picture..in front of the gateway flats. Not too dead there.
There was spitfires etc in the gardens only a shortwhile back too with the unveiling of the latest monument. Big crowd in attendance. There are religious services of remembrance and so on.The beach buzzes too when we get the weather. The hotels are busy busy with diners and the kids spend all their days either leaping off the piers or sailing etc. Lots of activity.
