  Wow! that's some swim! I wish her all the best as you say Brian, a shame that she cannot add her name to the wall of the White Horse as the first antipodean to do so, if she completes her endurance swim.
  
  I wonder if there are any other public houses in Dover who will take over the mantle of the sacred unofficial home of channel swimmers, Blake's perhaps?

  I did detect a hint of an intention on the part of the owners of the White Horse, or perhaps it was local feelings that spilled over, to continue operating under future management. If it is indeed so, could they not open for a 'private party' to keep the pubs swimming heritage going?
  
  'Blakes' would have leaped at the chance a little while ago.

  Another swimmer who completed the crossing today is Trent Grimsey (also Australian) in 6 hours 55 minutes, which is a new record!

  Mark Bayliss has just completed the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon in a record 73h 39m 12s. That's: run from Marble Arch to Shakespeare Beach- swim to CapGriz Nez then cycle to the Arc de Triomphe.
