One thing I find disturbing is - what is the point Paul's critic trying to make?
Is it malicious, offensive and litigious to draw attention to something that is evidently shoddiness on the part of more than one person prior to the placing of the memorial on the seafront?. Howard mentions "rumblings" .... but what are they?
It seems to me that there are two possibilities here. Either the anonymous person has completely got the wrong end of the stick and feels the Forum is being critical of the memorial itself, which is clearly absurd, or ..... he feels we haven't the right to raise the issue of this example of sloppiness which we should slavishly accept, and if we don't like it ..... tough!
By raising this issue Paul has helped to give the town, and more importantly the veterans, a memorial to be proud of.
