  I am sure that all involved were acutely and embarrassingly aware of the textual errors before the monument was in situ and arrangements to have the faults corrected were well under way by then and, as I have tried to explain before, the stark blunder in all of this was that the monument was left naked prior to the unveiling.
  
  What earthly point there is in bullying PaulW is beyond me.
  
  The Channel Dash Association and I were in communication over this issue prior to the unveiling ceremony and I have made their views and their event information known to all here and as far as I can tell the whole event went swimmingly. How a mind once relieved of worry and reassured by a positive public response can dream up notions of reprisal is matter for a therapist.
  
  To recap, for any who may looking in. Whatever rending-of-hair and gnashing-of-teeth has accompanied this (thoroughly successful) commemoration none of it was, or can be said to have been, caused by the Doverforum or any of it's members and contributors.
