@ Vic, Mrs is correct but Pauline is better. I have always thought of you as a bit of a Victor Mildrew but on this occasion, I'm afraid I have to agree. I really hope I'm wrong but I will never fathom how such an important port town/Gateway to England/area of historical importance and of oustanding natural beauty, can be reduced to such deplorable shabbiness. I feel the same faces have been in charge throughout the decline and one wonders what their thoughts on the situation are. When I have asked how come Deal can welcome visitors to a display of flowers as they enter the town, but Dover is nothing but an eyesore (apart from a stunning castle!) to it's many visitors, I have been told it is about how the Town Councils allocate their budget. If that is the case, what is Dover spending it's budget on. I appreciate there are a few planted up areas but it is almost like a token gesture and if Collette hadn't taken on Connaught Park, that would be totally bereft of benches and flowers. Oh dear, have I let myself in for an ear bashing now!!
