  Roger, perhaps you believe the petition is of no meaning. We can't just have the usual authority decision of making a decision against democratic expression.
  You appear to be of the opinion that the only school of economics available is building houses up and down the country so as to bring in money. A lot of this DDC planning has to do with bringing in money to increase the budget, as was explained by Protect Kent in Braddon.
  It has nothing to do with creating local jobs either, as the vast amount of jobs in building go to non-local people, very often Eastern Europeans who - by the current law - are entitled to come over and live in the UK.
  
  There is NO programme whatsoever to create local jobs for local people in this country.
  
  As for our protected areas of Western Heights and Farthingloe, I just simply don't want settlements springing up there, and many people have expressed the same view. And the continuous claim that we want the destruction of these areas comes from the very people who want to destroy them.
