Castle street christmas decorations

  why are the christmas decorations still up in castle street ? we are 18 days after christmas and want vistors to turn into dover , and they find that the town could not even get that organised !!

  I might be wrong here Ron but dont they leave them up permanently...I seem to remember something about that before on here but I have to be honest I never actually notice...but some of the guys will know.

  They have not left them up before, but they are no longer being lit either. I am sure they will come down soon, the end of the Christmas season probably took the Town Council by surprise.

  Hmm - local authorities and other state organisations seem to make a habit of being taken by surprise by public holidays..........perhaps we should club together and buy them all a diary?

  No they do take down the actual decorations the hanging bits across the road stay, but its when the contractors get round to doing it.

  I saw the cherry pickers starting to take down the decorations yesterday afternoon.
  
  No cherries though.
