Will be upon as sooner rather than later and we will be paying for things by phone rather than debit/credit cards which should be fun as I haven't a clue how to do it. Another issue is what happens when the battery goes flat unexpectedly because of the extra phone use.

Maybe there's still a faint hope that cash will fight back, and that libertarians everywhere will reject surveillance by card and app:

"But this week, Sainsbury's said in a blogpost: "It's clear that not all our customers are ready for a totally till-free store."
The people behind this daft idea obviously did not take into account not everyone is a technology fan, plus I bet their customer base declined except for the shoplifters. I for one would not use such a shop I like talking to the cashiers plus they sometimes pack for me.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Having listened to the TUC conference today I'm afraid it all looks rather inevitable.
This is what a wage demand for £10 an hour looks like when your 'skills' are only worth £7 an hour.
THIS is the future - and it's not going to stop just for you:-

No. Blame it on minimum transferable skills in spite of years of 'free' education.
