A lot has been said about the new navy carriers being built that will not have any RN aircraft until 2020. This is not quite right but thats not the point. The pee has been taken out of the Navy and both the past and previous governments for that.
But if you really want to read about a proper carrier screw up then you need only to read the story of the useless French carrier the Charles de Gaulle.
Talk about a tale of incompetence and woe - a multi-million dollar ship, the flagship of the French Navy is a true white elephant and why is that? All because of a toolshed..... Thats right, a toolshed and the cost of £100,000 to move it and extend a drydock.....
