  When I ran Dover Jive Club we entered the Dover Carnival in 2006, we were very excited when we won 1st prize for our catagory (can't remember which now); until we discovered that we were the only entry. Still had a great day though.

  The local media appear to be running the story in the letters pages of the need for 2 carnivals, and wouldn't it be better if they pooled resources

  does seem a pity not to have one big carnival.

  It is a shame the 2 carnivals cannot share resources making one big event
