Unfortunately as I understand it (and remember I have nothing to do with the organising or such like) last Friday, 28th September, a letter arrived from DDC saying that the carnival could not go ahead on 7th October. I can confirm that as I have seen the letter. Then on Tuesday 2nd October they changed their minds and decided it could go ahead which left it more than a bit late for proper advertising. Because of the cloudy start to Saturday it appears that the ten carnival courts decided not to risk going to Pencester to set up stalls. Age Concern did turn up but then left again. All I can really say on Saturday is that, once the music started, they had fun and the young couple from Dover Youth Theatre did an excellent job on the film standards.
