I cant remember the exact details but wasnt it something to do with disagreements within the commitee which then part broke away to form their own carnival so then there was two.I can remember one which was so small i think if i blinked i would have missed it.

Yes from memory the original carnival(the present small one) had disagreements within its committee, and some broke way and formed a second carnival, creating 2 ms Dover's etc
a bit of a mockery of it all.

Heard there may be an additional one to be added! Allegedly there is a second Tower Hamlets Forum that calls itself the TH Community Forum. Often attended by UKIP DDC Cllr Ben Glayzer. Allegedly they meet every month but very few people from the community attend ( fewer than 5 not counting the 2 committee members who, strangely, are related which conflicts with their constitution) The committee members have a relative who was crowned Tower Hamlets Queen but the girl doesn't live in the area. It appears Cllr Glayzer is planning to drive the vehicle which will transport the young lady. I can only repeat what was said by a rather stout lady whilst I waited in a queue and she claimed to be a committee member. I do not know the lady myself. If the tale is indeed factual, it surely will be Confusius who reigns, not a carnival queen. Never heard of any town having 3.

Whichever Council allows roads to be closed for Carnivals should only give permission for one, then perhaps the situation will be sorted.
Dover doesn't need 2 (or 3) carnivals.

The small carnivals cause more disruption than they are worth, either put it back as 1 or don't bother.

Dover's carnivals are a joke when compared to those of years ago when my grandchildren were young so it is no surprise they are seen as a failure.

Jan
I have to agree on this, and it is sad that the 2 carnivals cant come together and in the interests of Dover make Dover carnival one to be proud of like the ones your grandchildren loved.
