all very low key this, seen no mention of it on the forum and only got in the press over the town council stopping its funding of it.

To be honest I lost all interest in the carnival once my children grew up and I did not have to take them.
I wonder how many adults who do not have children to take or some personal interest in the carnival make the effort to go and watch it.

I think the squabbling between the two carnivals made me lose interest

Agreed Keith. Handbags at dawn. Most unseemly.

Whilst we are agreeing Peter, lets take this a little further, I find it embarrassing when it comes to light, and outside people say, but Dover has two different carnivals 2 Miss Dovers etc etc
which is the official body? I don't have the answers and I know the 2 bodies have attempted to get together, but maybe ego's(from both sides) didn't allow it to happen.
But it makes a mockery of the present set up
