    it is funny how miss widdecombe is always associated with common sense.

    i always remember her saying that common sense was just a load of prejudices built up over the years.
    i think that was the most interesting thing she ever said.

    i did admire her for her views on hunting with dogs and also taking a stand against the church of england.

    both issues alienated her from her party.
    i could never actually listen to anything she said on the tv or radio, her voice used to grate and the hectoring manner
    meant that the mute button came into effect.
