Sad to say but its been reported on Dover express website that Carl Thompson, reported as the heaviest man in the UK has been found dead at his Dover flat,he featured in the paper just recently as he needed to lose alot of weight as he was 65 stone. He had the support of many local people to help him.Its such a shame.

A great shame , if only he could have asked for and received the appropriate help earlier.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Very sad, just seen it on Sky news press review at midnight. I remember him from the Funky Monkey a couple of years ago. I used to have a drink there in the afternoons and he sometimes came in for a coke.

All the nationals carried the story, I remember a month or two one of the ladies from the soup kitchen prepared a load of healthy meals and put them in his freezer but he was still ordering from his local pizza house afterwards.

Sitting in my GP's surgery earlier a young bloke came in and was seriously obese, I would guess at 40 stone. He was clearly aware of his appearance as he kept his head in when booking in then took two seats at the table that people use to fill in the back of their prescriptions facing away from everyone there. Hopefully he will get professional help and the outcome will be different to Carl.
