  in the year ending march 2010 income from general parking fees and penalty charge notices amounted to £1,605,333 expenses were roughly half that.
  
  i think this will mean that councils in general will be looking to raise charges in future to make up for the shortfall from central government.
  
  records show that when parking charges rise there is a drop in usage for about 3 months then things go back to normal.
